Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the latest edition of the IRA e-Newsletter. The current issue focuses on a modern epidemic that profoundly impacts the clinical outcomes: obesity. 

I compliment the editorial team for putting together this issue which has very exciting and engaging topics that are often overlooked in day to day practice. In this issue, the topics touch beyond simple mechanics to explore the profound metabolic underpinnings of osteoarthritis, the intricate weight-pain axis in fibromyalgia, and the therapeutic realities of managing RA and PsA in obese patients. Role of anti-inflammatory diets and the emerging, highly relevant paradigm of GLP-1 receptor agonists in rheumatology are also discussed.

The “State Chapter Spotlight” chronicles the journey of the Delhi Rheumatology Association (DRA), beautifully penned by Prof. Rohini Handa and Dr S J Gupta.
