From the IRA Secretary’s Desk

Rajkiran Dudam
Honorary Secretary, Indian Rheumatology Association

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to present the December 2025 issue of the IRA E-Newsletter, an edition that reflects the academic energy, clinical depth, and collaborative spirit that define our rheumatology community.

This quarter’s theme focuses on Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in Connective Tissue Diseases (CTD-PAH)—an area of growing importance in Indian rheumatology practice. Through a series of expert contributions covering the spectrum from early screening approaches to interpretation of recent treatment guidelines and emerging therapeutic trends, this issue provides a comprehensive and timely academic update for clinicians across the country.

We are also delighted to feature insightful interviews with leaders in the field, offering perspectives on effective lecturing, podium skills, and evolving challenges in reproductive rheumatology. The Quarter-in-Review sections summarise key advances across basic, clinical, and paediatric rheumatology, ensuring our members remain informed of the rapidly progressing scientific landscape.

Our Young Rheumatologists’ Corner highlights relevant contemporary themes such as professional engagement on social media, while “Quiz of the Quarter,” “Images of the Quarter,” and the reflective “Life Beyond…” segment continue to add character, diversity, and human depth to this publication.

As we conclude another productive year, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all contributors, reviewers, and members of the Editorial Board for their continued dedication. The E-Newsletter remains a vibrant platform because of your enthusiasm. I encourage all members to actively share ideas, clinical experiences, and academic work for upcoming issues, helping us strengthen the IRA’s collective academic voice.

Wishing you a fulfilling academic season and a prosperous year ahead.

Warm regards,

Rajkiran Dudam
