IRACON 2025 — one that unfolded not only within the walls of lecture halls and corridors of Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, but also under the shifting skies of an unforgettable October week. In the first eight days of October, Delhi itself seemed to partake in the drama: skies alternated between overcast showers and golden autumn sunshine, as post-monsoon breezes and gentle rains added a subtle, almost poetic backdrop to our gathering.
By the 9th of the month, Delhi had bright skies with gentle breeze blowing throughout the day and cool evenings. Against this backdrop, IRACON 2025 transformed Yashobhoomi into a vibrant epicentre of global rheumatology. The event transcended the typical conference format: it was a celebration of intellect, collaboration, and the collective spirit that defines the Indian Rheumatology Association. We are extremely grateful to the 2429 delegates for IRACON 2025 (including 420 delegates for the Rheumatology CME for physicians) and 700 distinguished faculty, who made the event a huge success. IRACON 2025 proudly ranks amongst the largest and most dynamic gatherings in the association’s history — a fact underscored by over 650 submitted abstracts, reflecting the powerful surge of research and scholarly engagement in our community.
The academic programme was expansive and meticulously curated: more than 250 sessions — from plenaries, symposia, and workshops to SIG meetings and dedicated young-rheumatologist-centred sessions — ensured that every discipline, sub-speciality, and emerging frontier in rheumatology was given voice. Across these sessions, seasoned experts and young researchers alike engaged in rigorous learning, vibrant exchange of ideas, and built bridges across disciplines — all contributing to the evolving narrative of rheumatology in India and beyond.
The logistical orchestration of IRACON 2025 matched this academic brilliance with operational finesse. From seamless transitions between sessions to the warmth of hospitality extended to every participant, the conference embodied values of teamwork, precision, and shared commitment. It was not only the scale of the event that inspired admiration, but the harmony with which countless moving parts came together — a testament to months of tireless preparation and collective dedication of IRA members from Delhi and beyond who worked behind the scenes to make this possible.
Among the many memorable moments was the launch of two landmark publications — Progress in Rheumatology and Beyond Rheumatology. These volumes stand as proud milestones: capturing the scholarly depth of our field while celebrating the humanistic and creative impulses that enrich the scientific community. They will remain enduring contributions to Indian rheumatology’s literature and spirit. IRACON 2025 proudly conferred the distinguished IRA Awards, honouring exemplary contributions and leadership within the field of rheumatology.
With renewed energy, strengthened bonds, cherished memories, and a shared resolve to advance the frontiers of rheumatology, we promised to meet each other in 2026. Amidst the gentle autumn rains and the warm hues of early October, we exchanged ideas, forged collaborations, and helped shape the future of our field. Thank you all for your enormous participation and unwavering support.
